Tara Utchel is the current Director of the Ohio River Valley Football Club Juniors Program (a Club Academy for FC Pittsburgh), and the head coach of the 1999-2000 girls’ team. She is also completing a second undergraduate degree and teaching certification program at Slippery Rock University in Health and Physical Education.
Utchel is a native Pittsburgher. Her playing career started with the Beadling Soccer Club, continued through high school at Sewickley Academy (SA) and went on to finish as a 4-year starter with Bucknell University. Her accomplishments include the SA record for goals scored over her 4-year high school career (103), All-State and Regional All-American player in 1997 and 1998 respectively, and National All-American in 1998. While at Bucknell, she was awarded the Patriot League Rookie of the Year in 1999, several All-Patriot League honors, the team MVP in 2001 and 2002 and was team captain for the 2001 and 2002 seasons.
Utchel is quickly building her coaching resume, having served as the middle school head coach for Sewickley Academy, as well as assistant coach for both the Quaker Valley and Sewickley Academy girls’ varsity soccer programs. She recently completed her USSF "E" license and will be sitting for her USSF "D" license, as well as the rigorous National Youth License the summer of 2011.
