The girls had a very successful tournament showing this year, bringing home championships at the Northern Ohio Cup, Bethesda Thanksgiving Tournament, Cleveland Indoor Winter Classic, and this weekend’s Mason-Dixon Cup. The U10s also competed in the National Tournament Jefferson Cup, and went 2-1 in Elite Division, losing their last game just 3-2, just missing making it to the finals.

U15 SPARKS HOPE TO IGNITE AT NATIONALS!
(from USClub Soccer)...
FC Pittsburgh brought two teams to the Indianapolis Regional, and both squads will be returning to the Keystone State to prepare for the National Cup VIII Finals with championship trophies in hand.
The club's U-15 squad suffered a 1-0 loss to Minnesota Thunder Academy in a 9 a.m. game this morning, but results from the other teams in the age group resulted in a second showdown between the teams this afternoon. This time, however, FC Pittsburgh avenged its one-goal defeat with a 2-0 win, securing a spot in Virginia Beach, Va., later this summer.
Here is what Chet Gapczynsky, FC Pittsburgh's Girls' Director of Coaching, had to say about it:
"We knew we had the potential and the talent. We did face very good competition in both age groups. In both situations, the young ladies understood going in, different game plans from all the training and all the practice. And they applied them, and they were successful."
FC PITTSBURGH BRINGS HOME TWO REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS!

Both teams faced stiff competition, and FC Pittsburgh is one of only three clubs to have multiple teams moving on to Nationals. The two teams will compete in the 2009 National Cup VIII in Virginia Beach later this month. Click here to visit the article on the USClub site.
