Coach Chris Karwoski serves as the Director of Soccer Operations for FC Pittsburgh,  the Boys Director of Coaching, and is a member of the Board of Directors.  He also received the honor of being named the 2017 PA West ODP Coach of the Year.   Previously, Karwoski was the Assistant Coach and Recruiting Coordinator for the University of Pittsburgh’s Division I Men’s Soccer Program. From 1998-2008, Karwoski was a Division I Head Coach at Western Michigan University where he ranks as the second longest tenured soccer coach in the school’s history (11 seasons). Among many accolades at WMU, Karwoski earned MAC Coach of the Year in 2003, along with the MAC Tournament crown and WMU’s first and only berth in the NCAA College Cup in that same year. Coach Chris has over 22 seasons of Men’s Collegiate Division 1 coaching experience.

Coach Chris has also been involved in youth soccer of all ages in Michigan and PA, coaching young players at the community level, leading his Premier Club team to an MRL Regional Championship and the National Super Y Championships appearance, and has served as an ODP coach in both Region 1 and Region 2.   He currently is a board member of Sewickley Area Soccer, and serves as its director of coaching.   As a player, Coach Chris was a standout at the University of Vermont, helping the team to advance to the NCAA Elite Eight in 1989 and Captain of the 1990 NAC Championship team. He also played professionally and semi-professionally for the San Diego Nomads, Forfar Albion of the Scottish Third Div., and the Polonia Falcons of Connecticut.

Director of Girls' Coaching

Chet Gapcyznski is a co-founder of FC Pittsburgh, and a member of the Board of Directors.  He is presently the head coach of the 06G team at FC Pittsburgh. He also serves as the Director of Girls Coaching. Coach Chet holds a USSF National “B” level license.  Coach Chet spent 10 plus years in the Olympic Development Program both at the state and regional staff levels.

Coach Chet has coached for over 30 years, starting in upstate New York during the 1980s and moving to the Pittsburgh region in the early 1990s. He has served as club president, director of coaching and head coach. The academic institutions he has been affiliated with throughout his career include Lima Christian Academy High School, New Life Academy High School, Bishop Gibbons High School, Franklin Regional High School, North Allegheny High School and Central Valley.  At the club level, he has been affiliated with Penns Forest, International Football Club and Pittsburgh Football Club.

During coach Chet’s coaching career, his high school teams have consistently reached the playoffs including several state championship runs in Western Pennsylvania, while his club teams always excel with PA State Championships and many tournament wins.  Although he has coached both boys and girls teams, Coach Chet has focused his attentions to the girls side for the past 20 years of his career.

Andrew is the Club's Director of Player Development and head coach of the 04B Gold team.  Coach Andrew works with both boys and girls players within the Club from all age groups through our Player Development Program (PDP).  PDP aims to develop fundamental skills for all players and further athletic development with year-round training sessions.

Andrew has served as the head coach of the Quaker Valley High School boys soccer program since 2015.  In four years, QVHS has been PIAA State Champions 2019 and 2017, PIAA State Finalists 2016, WPIAL Champions 2016, WPIAL Finalists 2017 & 2018, and 3-time section Champions with three consecutive undefeated seasons.  Andrew was named PIAA State Coach of the Year in 2017, WPIAL Coach of the Year in 2016 and 2017 and section coach of the year 2017 and 2018.
Coach Andrew has three years NCAA Division three coaching experience with Geneva College, York College of PA, and Goucher College.  In addition, he has over 20 years of experience at the youth level coaching clubs in Maryland and Central PA, and  middle school and high school coaching experience.  Andrew has been an ODP staff member in both Maryland and PA West and is a former ODP Region 1 ID camp staff coach.
His playing career includes eight years professional experience with Pittsburgh Riverhounds (2013-14), Harrisburg City Islanders (2011-12), Crystal Palace Baltimore (2007-10).  He also has two years professional indoor soccer with Harrisburg Heat and Norfolk Sharx, and four years NCAA Division 1 with Towson University.

Coach Sam joined FC Pittsburgh in 2018 and is currently the Director of Goalkeeping and coaches the 05G team and 04B Black team.  In addition, he is an assistant coach for LaRoche College and their goalkeeping coach.

Prior to this, Sam had eight years experience coaching various teams from elite to academies, including two years at Westbrom FC Academy.

His playing experience as a goalkeeper includes10 years professional academy, and six years playing semi-pro football representing southwest England, including Yeovil Town FC and various other teams.
