FC Pittsburgh is excited to announce its membership in the USL’s Super Y League, playing in the Midwest Division beginning with the 2020 season. FC Pittsburgh’s Director of Soccer Operations Chris Karwoski said, “The Super Y League has proven to be a very positive vehicle for player enhancement and identification. We are very excited to add this opportunity for not only the players in our Club, but for those elite players in our area looking to further their development.”

Through an open tryout and evaluation process, the best players from the Pittsburgh area will be chosen to represent FC Pittsburgh in the Super Y League, which competes during the summer months, leading to a National Championship which is held in December each year. FC Pittsburgh’s Technical Director, Andrew Marshall, said, “ This gives the best players from all clubs in the area an opportunity to work together for the benefit of all players and an opportunity to be successful with a true national championship pathway.”

Tryouts for the Super Y teams will be held early in 2020 for play starting in June. Information will be posted on www.fcpittsburgh.com, or follow FC Pittsburgh on Facebook. “The natural evolution as a club requires this, and the Super Y League is the best option for the players in our area,” added Chet Gapczynski, girls director of coaching for FC Pittsburgh.
